About Munsiyari
Munsiyari is a small trading town at about 2,200 m in Pithoragarh district, historically the last stop on the Johar Valley trade route into Tibet. What draws people now is the view: the five Panchachuli peaks fill the skyline from town, and Khaliya Top — a short trek above Munsiyari — opens onto a wider panorama of snow peaks. It sees a fraction of Nainital or Auli's crowds for a comparable, arguably better, Himalayan view.

- April to June and September to November for clear peak views; the Almora–Thal–Munsiyari road can see landslides in heavy monsoon (July–August), and winter is bitterly cold with some routes closed.JFMAMJJASOND✓ September is a great time to go
- How to reach
- Kathgodam is the nearest railhead (about 280 km, 9–10 hrs by road); Pantnagar is the nearest airport. Most travellers drive up via Almora and Thal.
