About Manali

Manali is the Himalaya at its most reachable: deodar forest and apple orchards along the Beas, the Atal Tunnel opening a cold-desert valley on the other side of the Pir Panjal, and old stone temples in Vashisht and Old Manali that most visitors drive straight past. It works for a snow weekend, a first Himalayan trek, and a slow riverside stay in equal measure.

Best from October
October to February for snow, March to June for green valleys and adventure sports, and July to September for a quieter, rainier Manali.
How to reach
Bhuntar (Kullu) airport is about 50 km away with limited flights; most travellers come by overnight bus or car from Delhi and Chandigarh (12–14 hrs and 8–9 hrs).
