About Goa

Most people see one Goa: a stretch of beach and a shack. The rest of it is a Portuguese-era capital at Old Goa, Latin quarters in Fontainhas and Margao, spice farms and waterfalls inland, and a south coast that still empties out by nine in the evening. Done properly, a Goa trip has a beach in it, but is not only that.

November to February for dry, mild weather and the peak season, October and March for quieter beaches, and June to September for a green, rainy and very cheap Goa.
How to reach: Goa has two airports, Dabolim and Mopa, with flights from across India. Madgaon and Thivim are the main railway stations on the Konkan line.
