About Nashik
Nashik packs an unusual range into one district: the Panchavati ghats where the Ramayana is said to have unfolded, Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga at the Godavari's source, India's best-known wine country, and the Sahyadri hills around Igatpuri that turn waterfall-green in the monsoon. It sits between Mumbai and Pune, so it works as a real weekend — and it is the host city of the Simhastha Kumbh.
