About Hampi
Hampi is a World Heritage site scattered across a boulder field that looks like nowhere else in India: granite hills piled up by geology, and the ruins of the Vijayanagara capital spread between them. The Virupaksha temple is still a working shrine after centuries, the Vittala complex has the stone chariot and musical pillars, and the sunsets from Matanga or Hemakuta hill are the reason people stay longer than they planned.

- Hosapete (Hospet) is the nearest railhead, about 30 minutes away, with trains from Bengaluru and Hubballi. Ballari and Hubballi are the nearest airports.
